Filmmaker Ami Horowitz paid a visit to the University of California, Berkely in November to conduct a social experiment, and the reactions he received — or didn’t receive — may be a bit surprising.
Horowitz went through with the experiment to see how the university’s notoriously leftist student population would react to the American flag, as well as a flag representing the Islamic State group.
The analysis first began as Horowitz waved the American flag on the large campus.
And, as what can bee seen below, the gesture wasn’t well received by many of the university’s students.
And Horowitz even got a few answers about the well-known American symbol.
The American flag “signifies military rule,” an older man said to Horowitz.
“God is not proud of us,” a woman told the filmmaker.
“Your flag sucks, fool,” another woman said.
Many students responded to the sight of Horowitz waving the American flag by shouting “f*ck America.”
However, the waving of the Islamic State group’s flag on Berkeley’s campus garnered a much friendlier reaction from the university’s students and received a much friendlier reaction.
“Good for you, man. Good for you,” a student told Horowitz as the filmmaker waved the black flag.
“I love that you’re saying that,” another student told the filmmaker.
As reported by The Western Journal, The Islamic State group recently called for the assassination of President Donald Trump’s 11-year-old son, Barron Trump.
Horowitz said only one person was upset by his pro-ISIS chanting in the multiple hours he spent waving the Islamic State flag on Berkeley’s campus.
Horowitz said on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday the video is “reflective of the general sentiment” of what he experienced on Berkeley’s campus.
“With the American flag, for example, the vast majority of people that came up to me had an extraordinarily negative response,” Horowitz said.
“Now to be clear, there were a few supporters,” Horowitz said. “But they were outweighed significantly by the anti-America sentiment.”
“Conversely, with the ISIS flag, the vast majority of the people who passed by … would say nothing,” Horowitz said, adding that there were a couple positive responses.
“One person in total rejected to it.”
