The father of a UCLA basketball player who President Trump helped get released from dire consequences in China is still out there slamming the president, this time in a visit with left-wing CNN host Chris Cuomo.
You’ll recall that last week, three UCLA basketball players were arrested for the serious crime of shoplifting while the team was in China playing a basketball game. The crime may not seem too serious to we Americans, but in China the crime can result in as much as a 10-year prison sentence. Worse, offenders arrested on the charge often spend a month or more in prison as they wait just to be charged. Then they wait more time as the case wends its way through the Chinese court system.
The situation got even more frightening for the three players when the rest of their teammates flew home to California but the accused were forced to remain behind under house arrest. Still, the arrests just happened to occur while President Trump was in China on a state visit and while there Trump asked Chinese leader Xi Jinping to look into the case.
Seemingly hours after Trump made his request, the three players, one of whom was star player LiAngelo Ball, were released and were on a plane back to California.

Despite interceding on Ball’s behalf, though, the player’s loudmouthed father, LaVar Ball, immediately jumped to any TV show he could find to attack the president by claiming that Trump didn’t do anything for the troubled player.
LaVar Ball jumped all over Trump but Trump fired back as good as he got.
Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!

Even after that, Ball is still not leaving it alone. Despite that even some liberal sportscasters are saying that the three players should thank Trump for his efforts, Ball is once again attacking Trump and dismissing Trump’s efforts to get the three players released.
This time he appeared on CNN with Chris Cuomo with the CNN host pushing Ball on why he won’t show even a little gratitude for Trump’s efforts to get LiAngelo freed from a Chinese jail.
Indeed, instead of thanking Trump, Ball says HE is the one who got his son out of China.
“I helped my son get out of [China]…I had some people that had boots on the ground that knew the situation!” Ball proclaimed.
When Cuomo pressed him, Ball retorted, “I don’t have to go around saying thank you to everybody.”
Ball even slammed the president for not calling him. “He didn’t call me, I didn’t shake his hand,” the ingrate yelled at Cuomo.
One amusing aspect of the interview, though, is Cuomo’s backpedaling and trying to make Ball feel better when Ball accused the host of badgering him. Cuomo clearly became alarmed that he was being accused of attacking a black man.
Still, it is clear that ignoramus LaVar Ball is refusing to give credit where credit is due. Donald Trump is the sole reason that the three UCLA players were released as quickly as they were.
Without Trump’s intercession, those three young men would still be sitting under arrest in China. And they would be facing ten years in prison to boot.
